NTSB to Conduct Comprehensive Review of Regulations

June 25, 2012

The National Transportation Safety Board is undertaking a review of its regulations to determine whether any should be modified, streamlined, expanded or repealed in order to make the agency's regulations more effective and less burdensome.

The review is being done to comply with an executive order encouraging independent Federal agencies to review rules that have a significant economic impact.

The NTSB is committed to ensuring its regulations are up-to-date, enforceable, reasonable and easily understood. The Board believes this review will be beneficial to everyone involved in the NTSB's work.

The Board encourages the public to submit comments in response to this Request for Information. The 60-day comment period concludes on Aug. 27.
