Do I have to account for peripheral items?

4/3/2012

Yes, peripheral items (e.g., printer, CAC readers, routers) are considered a component of the end item (COEI). The major end item serial number is tied to the processing unit (handheld, notebook and server). Component level items should be captured in the units component level hand receipt. A property book officer (PBO) may authorize the unit supply clerk to manage these component-level items, but it is the under the discretion of the PBO.
