Accessing MTBI Reports in TMDS

3/29/2012
The Theater Medical Data Store (TMDS) provides mild traumatic brain injury (MTBI) diagnosis and assessment reports.

MTBI Diagnosis Report
This report displays a patient’s most recent record with an MTBI diagnosis code (ICD-9 codes 850.0–850.9 and 780.97) within the specified date range.

Any user with protected health information (PHI) access, including users without behavioral health (BH) access, can use the MTBI Diagnosis Report page to view patient encounter modules (PEMs) and patient movement requests (PMRs) that contain sensitive BH-related information in the MTBI Medical Event History section of the patient’s TBI Assessments page. In the circumstance where a patient has been assigned an MTBI diagnosis code and a behavioral health diagnosis code (ICD-9 codes 290–319), the MTBI Medical Event History section of the page displays links to patient records classified as sensitive.

Perform the following steps to generate the MTBI Diagnosis Report:

  1. Log on to the TMDS Portal and click the Reports tab.
  2. Navigate to the MTBI Reports and click MTBI Diagnosis Report.
  3. To change the default date range, choose a new Start Date and End Date by performing either of the following:

    • Click the calendar icon and navigate to and click the desired date.
    • Manually enter the <date> to override the default date.
  4. Click View Report. The MTBI Diagnosis Report is compiled.
  5. Perform any of the following steps as desired:
    1. To export to Microsoft Excel, click the Excel link at the bottom of the report.
    2. To view the Patient Summary page for a patient, click the name link of a specific patient.
    3. To view an existing TBI Assessment, click the ANAM, MACE, or OTHER link in the MTBI Assessment Performed column. The patient’s TBI Assessments page opens.
