Upstate New York Electronic Crimes Task Force
The Upstate New York Electronic Crimes Task Force was established as a partnership of federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, private sector companies and academia in order to prevent, detect and investigate technology-based criminal activity.
The Task Force provides a coordinated approach that incorporates cyber crime security assets from four geographical regions of Upstate New York (Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse and Albany) into a centralized investigative unit administered by the Secret Service.
Ultimately, the Upstate New York Electronic Crimes Task Force partnership expands the technological capabilities and resources of all collaborative parties, allowing for aggressive investigations, risk assessments and information sharing in order to address potential attacks against the nation's critical infrastructures.
