The 7th Annual Fuel Cycle Information Exchange (FCIX) will be held June 12-13, 2012, at the U.S Nuclear Regulatory Commission Auditorium, located at 11545 Rockville Pike in Rockville, Maryland. The FCIX continues to grow in popularity, with several hundred attendees representing government, industry, and other fuel cycle industry stakeholders from the United States and other countries each year.

The FCIX is hosted by the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards (NMSS), Division of Fuel Cycle Safety and Safeguards (FCSS). This event provides an opportunity for NRC staff, industry representatives, licensees, and other stakeholders to openly discuss regulatory issues of mutual interest, as they relate to key sectors of the nuclear fuel cycle, including: licensing, certification and inspection of nuclear fuel facilities for uranium conversion and enrichment; nuclear fuel fabrication and deconversion of depleted uranium tails. There is no fee for attending the FCIX, and the public is invited to attend.  Planning for the FCIX is underway, so check back frequently as more information becomes available.

This year’s theme is “The Nuclear Fuel Cycle: Ensuring Safety and Security in a Dynamic Environment”.
