    • Can you please explain to me why us folks in pochatoula can't get any help from our government about the rising water. Can't get response from the news either. Also no federal help for my parish. We have residents calling local sheriff for help and they tell us we don't know what we are talking about. I think the people trapped by water know what they are talking about.

  2. Today we held a ceremony on the Capitol steps in remembrance of September 11, 2001. As we prayed with the House Chaplain, I said a prayer for all those who lost their lives on that day, as well as all of the brave men and women in our Armed Services who have lost their lives or have been wounded in the global war against terror. We will never forget.
  3. Stop by any of my local offices for help recovering from Hurricane Isaac. All my office locations are open and ready to help in Mandeville, Metairie, and Hammond. In addition, my staff will host office hours in Slidell on Wednesday morning from 9:30 – 11:30 at Slidell City Hall to answer any questions you have as we work to recover from the storm.

  6. URGENT: Tangipahoa Parish President Gordon Burgess has called for a mandatory evacuation of all areas along the Tangipahoa River from Kentwood to Robert.
