One of the contractors for the Office of River Protection, Advanced Technologies and Laboratories (ATL) technicians test some 25,000 samples of materials in support of the Hanford cleanup mission every year.  ATL has a laboratory in the 200 West Area of the Site where they will receive, handle, test, analyze, and store samples that come in from numerous projects on the Site.  Advanced Technologies and Laboratories workers have expertise in fields including nuclear engineering, nuclear physics, organic and inorganic chemistry, waste management, biology, and ecology.
