Comment: AETC ensures nuclear precision, compliance, accountability
A very large number of Air Force civilian employees assigned to AFMC should be included in this training process as well. Hundreds of AFMC civilian employees manage, handle, maintain, nuclear materials and equipment. Why design and develop training for just one target group. It's more cost effective and efficient to design, develop and deliver to all Air Force personnel involved.  View story

Comment: Senior Officials Define Leadership During Air Force Week
First, I would like to thank each of the panel members who spoke about leadership, mentorship, etc. The article ends with this quote from Secretary Donley, "Today's junior officers and enlisted men will indeed grade our work," he said. "My hope is that we will have passed that test, that we will have given them not only an Air Force ready for their leadership, but also we will have prepared them to lead the future Air Force." I would respectfully add that a study of history would well serve the Air Force's Core Values. I would also recommend a book, "The Five Thousand Year Leap," as a source for understanding our forefathers and how our Constitution was built. View story

Re: Air Force officials test ability to recall retirees
I would gladly "Report for Duty." Most retired members worth their salt could perform a number of useful functions stateside and open the way for younger, more fit troops to serve our nation overseas!!

Re: Air Force officials test ability to recall retirees
Maybe I am missing something here, but how does sending letters and having retirees apply constitute a test of the system? If it were to happen for real, I doubt letters and applications would be done. It needs to be more realistic.

Re: Uniforms for the fallen are always perfect
Thank you for providing a deeper insight to the great work everyone at Dover AFB does for our country's fallen HEROES. As a Ride Captain with the Patriot Guard Riders I have witnessed the exemplary work done by these folks and the mortuary staff. On more then a few occasions, I have been invited by the mom of a Soldier to see "her hero." For me, it is very humbling and an honor to spend this private time with them as they tell me about their hero. As I stand there with tears in my eyes looking at a kid who has given their all for our country,  I imagine them standing tall in their Class A uniform and the pride they felt. I see them there still standing tall in a very sharp crisp uniform. From a Vet who has stood next to families during such a rough time in their lives, I salute you all. Your dedication to our HEROES and their families is noticed. My thanks to you for your service.

Comment: NSPS goes under the microscope
I see this article and have hope, yet, I don't see policies falling in line with the concern. We are just now opening up external hiring across the board, making "favoritism" and "nepotism" easier to enact. Are we looking at NSPS under a microscope hidden in a closet? Shouldn't current policy become more strict rather than less? View story

Comment: Airmen honor America's veterans during Air Force Week
Kudos to Langley Air Force Base, Va., for the outstanding work that you are doing with Air Force Week. Too often people do not take the time to recognize the veterans and the veterans who are active duty. I am happy that you include ALL veterans. Outstanding is the best way to say this to all of you at Langley AFB. This shows you care about the Air Force, past, present and future. Keep up your tradition of what the Air Force is all about. Comment: Experts review B-52 fuel hose process
We should ask how much of that improvement has been due to adding additional overnight express services.  When I was an IMA at OK-ALC, we always had long waits for parts. Every maintenance status meeting resulted in lots of expensive overnight shipping requests - to get the parts that we had already run out of. To keep the budget forecast down, people underestimated needs for parts and when the line shut down and hardware was sitting there by "Hollywood and Vine" we could use emergency funds to overnight parts in from San Antonio mostly. Comment: Experts review B-52 fuel hose process
Interesting article, but I would be more interested to read what the "fix" was that the AFSO21 team came up with and implemented to solve the parts shortage. I guess that's another story depending on whether or not the "fix" really works. Sounds like a simple failure to properly forecast supply and demand. View story

Comment: Chaplain represents Air Force at historic Atlanta church
I am proud and give honor and praise to a fellow Airmen and Cambridge, Mass., resident. He led our congregation while stationed at Aviano AB, Italy. He knows where Cambridgeport is, and I know that he is honored to represent us in Atlanta. God bless!  View story
