RE: AF changes, removes info given to officer promotion boards
I just read this article, and it sounds to me like deployments will be the discriminator now versus a master's degree etc, as has been the defacto standard in the past. As an individual mobilization augmentee, I can't help but see this as a bad thing. I've got several people working for me that have asked several times to deploy, but have been turned down because we're IMAs and not needed right now. How's this going to reflect against them on their major or lieutenant colonel board? I went to Desert Shield/Storm and although I'd never trade the experience, it didn't make me a better officer. I've also seen my fair share of slugs go over and not learn a thing that makes them better officers or leaders. I'm hoping this isn't another artificial discriminator like the education lines used to be, because it's not a good indicator of who's going to be a good leader in the future, and that's what the focus should be.

AF New Test Battle Dress Uniform
What is going on with the new Air Force battle dress uniform? There has been so little coverage on that subject since this past summer.

MIA Bracelet
I just visited the National Vietnam Veterans Art Museum in Chicago and it got me to thinking again about the bracelet I had in grade school. I stumbled across this web site and found out that the MIA's name I wore for so many years was alive! I'm so happy to have found a happy ending to a 30-plus year old question. Thank you.
