Information on the 2009 H1N1 influenza

In April, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention detected a type of Influenza A called H1N1 infecting people in the United States. Other countries have reported people sick with the virus. More information on this flu is available on the dedicated CDC Web site or through the health departments of Kane County and DuPage County. Flu information and a flu shot locator are available at www.flu.gov.

Since the signs and symptoms of the H1N1 flu closely mimic those of the regular seasonal flu virus, the CDC is no longer conducting laboratory testing of H1N1 and recommends taking the same precautions and care in all cases of the flu.
