Gary M. (Mitch) Covington, Director, DFAS Texarkana
Mitch Covington is Director, Defense Finance and Accounting Service-Texarkana, where he has served since January 1999. As director, he oversees the operation of a nonappropriated fund accounting and payroll office with 244 employees serving Army and DOD morale welfare and recreation activities worldwide.Mitch began as an accounting technician in the NAF Central Accounting Office, Red River Army Depot in 1978 and has spent his entire career in the same organization.
He is a life long resident of Texarkana, Texas, and holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting from the former East Texas State University at Texarkana.
