HARTFORD, CT – House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson (CT) released the following statement on the U.S. Department of Labor’s September employment report, which shows that the U.S. economy added 114,000 jobs in September - the 31st straight month of private sector job growth - and saw unemployment fall to 7.8 percent:

“The vote today may allow people to take a deep breath and avoid another manufactured crisis before the election, but we’re simply kicking the can down the road again.

“American families are hurting and they are looking for Congress to lead. What they’re getting from the GOP instead is the biggest do-nothing-Congress ever.

WASHINGTON – House Democratic Caucus Chairman John Larson (CT) released the following statement on the Department of Labor’s August employment report. The U.S. economy added 96,000 jobs, including 103,000 private sector jobs. The unemployment rate shrank to 8.1 percent:

“This past week Americans have been provided with a clear choice between continued action to boost growth and economic prosperity or returning to the failed policies that landed us in this crisis in the first place.
