Chairman King Statement on Federal Lawsuit Alleging Misconduct at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)

Washington, D.C. – Today, Rep. Peter T. King (R-NY), Chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security, issued the following statement regarding a Federal lawsuit alleging misconduct at Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE): 

“The Committee on Homeland Security is monitoring the Federal lawsuit alleging serious misconduct at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, as it monitors all such litigation. 

“Despite press reports, however, no decision has been made at this time to have the Full Committee initiate an investigation of this matter, nor has any subcommittee been authorized to initiate such an investigation. 

“The Committee on Homeland Security is also closely reviewing the situation as it is being investigated by ICE Office of Professional Responsibility and the Department of Homeland Security Inspector General.  The Committee on Homeland Security will take whatever action is appropriate when it becomes appropriate.”
