Most wahoo in the U.S. market is harvested in the Pacific and landed in Hawaii, where the fish is called “ono,” meaning “good to eat.” No regulations currently apply to wahoo specifically – their biology makes them resilient to fishing pressure and catch trends have so far indicated that they are sustainable.
