DLPT ACE College Credit

U.S. Military Service Members who took a Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT) or Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) and would like to request DLPT American Council on Education (ACE) Credit Recommendations, will need to complete a DLIFLC FORM 420. The form can be found at the menu to the left in "REGISTRAR FORMS." 

Please do NOT complete a DLIFLC Form 220 (Transcript Request) when you are requesting DLPT ACE Credit.

ACE college credit recommendations are only available for languages tested with a DLPT III, DLPT IV, or DLPT 5 format after 1 October 1990. Not all languages are ACE college credit recommended; check the ACE DLPT Credit by Exam Policy found in the menu to the left in "REGISTRAR FORMS" to make sure your test scores are eligible for ACE credit. 

DLPT/OPI ACE credit is based on official test scores. Official test scores are maintained for students who either completed one of DLIFLC's resident language programs, or whose test scores are available on the DMDC website. DLPT/OPI's taken prior to 2006 may not be available, if the original Scantron answer sheets were not forwarded to the DLIFLC Testing Division. DLPT ACE credit can NOT be prepared from DA 330s forwarded to the Registrar's Office.

To request DLPT/OPI ACE credit, the applicant must submit a signed DLPT ACE credit request form DLIFLC FORM 420 found at the menu to the left in "REGISTRAR FORMS." The completed form must include the applicant's full name/maiden name, full Social Security Number, the language tested, the date tested, and location/TCO. Write the name and full address of the receiving institutions and the number of copies to be sent.

You may also write in additional instructions, for example, send an email or faxed copy. A completed and signed DLIFLC FORM 420 may be mailed, faxed or scanned/emailed to the Registrar's Office for processing.

It takes approximately 8-10 business days to process ACE credit requests. Incomplete or hard to read forms may cause delays in processing.

There is no fee for DLPT/OPI ACE credit reports.

Applicants may establish a password allowing them to request future ACE credit reports without a signed request. Simply select your own password and write it on a signed and completed DLIFLC FORM 420. Future ACE credit requests may then be requested without a signature, by using the established password.

To request a DLIFLC transcript use the DLIFLC Form 220 found at the menu to the left in "REGISTRAR FORMS."

To request official reports of DLPT/OPI/DLAB Scores (not DLPT/OPI ACE college credit recommendations), please contact the Test Control Officer (TCO) at the location where you took the test.

The DLIFLC Testing Office can only generate DA 330s/official score reports of the DLPTs/OPIs/DLABs for personnel who physically tested at DLIFLC. The TCO at the location where you took the test can contact the DLIFLC Testing Office if they have questions.
