November 10, 2009 - A Combating Trafficking In Persons team from the DoD IG Office of Policy and Oversight, Inspections and Evaluations Directorate recently returned from an inspection trip at U.S. military installations in the Republic of Korea.
The CTIP team is evaluating the inclusion of CTIP language into DoD contracts, as well as organizational CTIP program performance. Prior to departing, the CTIP team met with Gen. Walter Sharp, Commander, United Nations Command, Combined Forces Command, and United Stated Forces Korea, and briefed him on their observations. (more) |
February 19, 2009 - The Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoDIG) Inspections and Evaluations (I&E) Directorate announced an inspection of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, Washington (AFRH-W).
The AFRH-W is a modern retirement community that resides on 272 acres of property in the heart of Washington, DC. This campus is literally “a city within a city,” providing medical services, banks, chapels, mail service, Post Exchange, laundry facilities, a barber shop, beauty salon, several dining areas, recreational activities, shuttle service, and access to public transportation.
The AFRH-W provides independent living, assisted living, and long term care to eligible veterans of all services, with a resident capacity of 1125. (more) |
