September edition of the Georgia Guardsman magazine
September is National Preparedness Month, and your Georgia National Guard was hard at work all over the globe making sure it lived up to its mantra of “Always Ready, Always There.” Stateside, the 48th Infantry Brigade Combat Team went to Minnesota for two weeks of intense field training while the 78th Homeland Response Force headed to North Carolina for operation Vigilant Guard. Internationally, the 78th Aviation Troop Command flew to Canada to conduct a joint training with the British Army, while Guardsmen with the 3-108th Calvary, 560th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, took combatives training up a notch, and Soldiers deployed to Afghanistan with the 648th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade trained to remain qualified with individual weapons. Georgia's Citizen-Soldiers are serving their nation all over the globe, and the Georgia Guardsman magazine is there to cover it all!
The Georgia Guardsman is published monthly under the provisions of AR 360-81 and AF 6-1 by the Georgia Department of Defense Public Affairs Office. The views and opinions expressed in the Georgia Guardsman magazine are not necessarily those of the Departments of the Army or Air Force, or of the Adjutant General of Georgia. | READ ON
