Academic Leadership


As the chief academic officer, the Provost, a civilian, oversees the resident and non-resident foreign language program, instructional methodology and technology, curriculum development, and faculty training. The provost establishes policy, provides leadership, advice, and guidance on foreign language training for the DLIFLC, and represents the Institute on external academic councils and committees. The provost has operational control of the Undergraduate Education Schools, Continuing Education Directorate, Language Science and Technology Directorate, and Evaluation and Standards Directorate.

In his day-to-day operations, Provost is assisted by Associate Provosts for respective directorates.
