Thank you for interest in applying to the Civilian Expeditionary Workforce (CEW). Because the mission in Afghanistan, Iraq, Africa, and other areas supporting overseas operations for the Department of Defense are always evolving, we have structured our application process to make it easier for applicants to apply and expedite the hiring process. New requirements for personnel are determined every day and having an applicant pool of personnel who are interested, qualified and deployable for specific job categories makes it much faster to match people to positions.

Instead of applying for a specific job, we ask that you apply for a job category that best fits your skills and abilities, select a salary tier that best fits your experience level, and submit a resume that highlights your applicable education, experience, and other pertinent information for the job category which you are interested.

We are continuously recruiting for all job categories so if you are a highly motivated individual who would like to make a difference and deploy as a Federal civilian alongside the US Military, then apply for one of our job categories and start your journey today.

IMPORTANT: If you are applying for a Ministry of Defense Advisor (MODA) Program or the Afghanistan, Pakistan (AFPAK) Hands Program position, please select the “MODA Only Positions” or “AFPAK Hands Only Positions” tab during step 3 of the application process. Additional information about the MoDA Program can be found in the “FAQ” and “More Information” dropdown menus, above. Your resume will be forwarded to those Program Offices for consideration.”

To apply for a job, there are four basic steps:

1. Select a job category. You may choose up to 3 job categories that you are interested in and feel that you are most qualified for. Your application will be considered for all positions and openings that fit within your selected categories.

2. Select your experience level. Select the level (or levels) that best fit your knowledge, skills, and abilities. Please note: the base salary ranges listed do not include additional compensation that you may be entitled to depending on the location of your duty assignment.

TIP: Read the Deployability disclaimer carefully. Due to the demanding nature of assignments with the Civilian Expeditionary Workforce (CEW), prospective applicants should carefully assess their suitability with respect to medical requirements and other personal/legal issues, including eligibility for a security clearance, job history and experience commensurate with the CEW position description, and ability to handle a job environment with high stress and long (60-80) hours per week.

3. Application. Fill out the entire application selecting all the appropriate applicable items (i.e. security clearance, language proficiencies, etc.). Copy and paste your resume into the designated section insuring the information is as accurate as possible and depicts the skills, abilities, education, and experience applicable to the job category for which you are applying.

4. Confirm and submit. Confirm that all the information in your application is accurate and submit.

We appreciate the time and energy you put into your application and look forward to helping you deploy in support of the CEW mission. You will soon receive an e-mail confirming receipt of your application. Please take a moment to read the e-mail in its entirety as it contains important information regarding your application.
