Internship Program

Our student internship program gives you the opportunity to gain experience working in a professional environment, learn about the culture of DFAS, make an impact on our programs and operations and network with members of leadership, while supporting the men and women who defend our nation.

Highlights of the internship program include:

  • Eight-to-10 week assignment in one of our functional areas with the goal of learning day-to-day operations and the completion of an individual project.
  • Introduction to the Department of Defense work environment, which will include briefings by high-level management and a visit to one of our customer sites.
  • Provide feedback and ideas for the future improvement of programs and processes.
  • Exposure to a variety of our business functions through job shadowing outside of your primary office.
  • Receive feedback and advice available through our peer advisor program.

Applicants must be United States citizens, and ideal intern candidates will have maintained a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 while exhibiting a history of involvement and leadership. Candidates should have or be close to completing a bachelor's or other advanced degree.
