VOA English Learning Expands in Pakistan
Voice of America’s English Learning programming has found another home – this time in Pakistan.
Internet television channel G1 will take the programming, sometimes referred to as Special English. VOA offers this unique method of teaching English through a carefully selected vocabulary of about 1400 words.
G1 has expressed interest in carrying additional VOA programs.
Community FM in Niger Adds VOA in Multiple Languages
Shukurah FM in Matamèye, Niger has signed the agreement to broadcast VOA Hausa and French-language programs.The full-service station will broadcast West Africa evening news, Washington Forum, Media d’Afrique et d’Ailleurs and Sportrama.
The BBG will assist in installing the necessary equipment to deliver the content to Shukurah FM.
Serbian Affiliate Adds More of On Assignment
Serbia: Popular Belgrade cable TV Station B92 Info has added additional time slots for Voice of America’s reporter notebook program On Assignment.
New time slots are Monday 10:30am, Wednesday, 10:30am and Sunday, 7:30am. With the new times, the program airs in multiple time slots throughout the week, Monday through Sunday.
Salvadoran Television Channel In Deal With VOA LatAm
Megavisión, which runs two channels with countrywide coverage in El Salvador, signed an agreement to airing VOA Latin America’s Mundo al Día in their evening schedule as well as Foro Interamericano.
The station also plans to broadcast VOA produced news stories within their newscasts.
