Derivative Classification Training

This 26-page training document was developed by CDSE to meet the requirement stated in Executive Order 13526. The requirement states that derivative classifiers are required to have training once every 2 years on the proper application of the derivative classification principles of the order, with an emphasis on avoiding over-classification. It is designed for wide dissemination as a handout for use by security managers and derivative classifiers. This job aid also provides an overview of the approved security classification documents that assist in analyzing and evaluating information for identification of elements that require classification.
