Shippers and Freight Forwarders Can Report Exports at No Cost Via Internet

AESDirect Open for User Registration, September 27th

AESDirect a service that enables businesses to file export information at no cost over the Internet - to the Automated Export System (AES) - is now online taking user registrations, in anticipation of full on-line operation October 4th, 1999

"AESDirect" was announced in August by Commerce Secretary Daley as part of an effort to make government more efficient and boost U.S. exports. AESDirect is an Internet-based service that allows exporters, freight forwarders and consolidators file shippers' export declaration information in an automated, cost-free way. AESDirect is now open and taking user registrations for planned full live operation October 4th, 1999. The Internet site is http://www.aesdirect.gov.
