Software vendors interfacing with AESDirect must agree to the terms and conditions set forth in the interactive keying approach. Vendors must agree to register and pass the tutorial of the interactive keying approach of this site. Furthermore, vendors must register and complete successful certification of the software vendor partner program.

All software vendors utilizing AESDirect must have the following installed in their software prior to successful certification:

• All AES Reference tables (Schedule B and HTS, Schedule K, Schedule D, ISO Country Codes, State Codes, Mexican State Codes, Units of measure, License Codes, Export Information Codes)
• Logic to prevent any AES translator errors (001 - 020)
• Correction and Deletion capabilities

In addition, all software vendors agree to:

• Complete the service provider certification process, complying with all requirements set forth by the Census representative
• Maintain up-to-date software using the appropriate standards
• Make a good faith effort to install the software on a timely basis at their client's site
