Montgomery Man Sentenced to 105 Months in Federal Prison For Illegal Gun Possession

Desmond Tyrell Coleman, age 28, of Montgomery, was sentenced in federal district court to 105 months in federal prison for illegal firearms possession, U.S. Attorney Leura G. Canary announced today. Coleman was also sentenced to serve three years of supervised release under the supervision of a federal probation officer after his release from prison. There is no parole from federal prison. Autaugaville Man Indicted and Detained on Federal Gun and Drug Charges

William Walter Ohoro, age 46, of Autaugaville, Alabama, has been indicted by a federal grand jury in a four-count indictment for violations of federal drug and firearms laws, U.S. Attorney Leura G. Canary announced today. The indictment charges that on July 28, 2009, Ohoro possessed 17 firearms after being convicted of a felony offense; that he possessed marijuana with intent to distribute, that he possessed methamphetamine, and that he possessed firearms in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Tennessee Man Sentenced To 14 Years In Prison For Burning Islamic Center

Senior Judge Robert L. Echols of the Middle District of Tennessee today sentenced Michael Corey Golden to 14 years and three months in prison and three years of supervised released for vandalizing and burning down the Islamic Center of Columbia, Tenn., the Justice Department announced. Golden pleaded guilty on Nov. 3, 2008, to destruction of religious property and to using fire to commit a felony. More »

On October 22, 2009, Billy Harold Johnson, 50, of Burlison, Tennessee, was sentenced by United States District Judge S. Thomas Anderson to three concurrent terms of Life in prison following his conviction by a federal jury in the United States District Court for the Western District of Tennessee on three counts of violating the murder for hire statute and eight counts of perjury, announced Lawrence J. Last Defendant in Tennessee Islamic Center Burning Pleads Guilty

Eric Ian Baker pleaded guilty today in federal court in Nashville, Tenn., for his role in burning and vandalizing the Islamic Center of Columbia, Tenn., on Feb. 9, 2008. Baker was charged with violating civil rights that protect religious property and for using fire in the commission of a felony. Two other defendants, Michael Corey Golden and Jonathan Edward Stone, had previously pleaded guilty in November 2008 for their roles in the arson. More »

Cavanaugh, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF) Nashville Division; Ronal Serpas, Police Chief of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department; and Mark Gwyn, Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, announced today that Adrian J. Gilliam Jr., 33, of Lavergne, Tenn., was arrested on a federal criminal complaint charging him with being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. The offense is punishable by up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000. More »
