Kyle Man Sentenced on Firearm Charge Angel Vasquez
United States Attorney Brendan V. Johnson announced that a Kyle man charged with Possession of an Unregistered Firearm was sentenced on June 18, 2012, by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey L. Viken. Angel Vasquez, age 24, was sentenced to time served and five years' supervised release and was ordered to pay $100 to the Victim Assistance Fund.
In October 2011, near Pine Ridge, Vasquez knowingly possessed a Mossberg, 12-gauge weapon made from a shotgun that was not registered to him. He pleaded guilty on March 2, 2012..
This case was investigated by the Oglala Sioux Tribe Department of Public Safety and the ATF. Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Kelderman prosecuted the case.
