Medina Man Sentenced to 14 Years for Drug and Gun Crimes
Madison, Wis. – John W. Vaudreuil, United States Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin, announced that Juan M. Flores-Olague, 56, Medina, Wis., was sentenced today by U.S. District Judge Barbara B. Crabb to 14 years in prison, for distributing cocaine and for possessing firearms in furtherance of his drug distribution. Flores-Olague pleaded guilty to these charges on February 27, 2012.
From September 2010 to November 2011, Flores-Olague sold cocaine to an undercover officer on seven occasions. Flores-Olague distributed the cocaine from his home, and officers executed a search warrant at the home on November 17, 2011.
During the search, officers recovered nine grams of cocaine, a handgun, a scale and $3,820 in the master bedroom. Hidden in the kitchen ceiling tiles, officers recovered three handguns, ammunition, and $49,800. Flores-Olague admitted to police that he had been selling cocaine for three years and that he sold approximately one ounce a week.
The charges against Flores-Olague were the result of an investigation by the Dane County Narcotics and Gang Task Force and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. The prosecution of this case has been assigned to Assistant U.S. Attorney Rita M. Rumbelow.
