ATF OFFERS REWARD IN KENNETT COUNTRY CLUB ARSON
KENNETT, Mo. — The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Kansas City Field Division announced today ATF is offering a reward of $10,000 for anyone who has information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for a fire at the Kennett Country Club. This is in addition to the Missouri Office of the State Fire Marshal’s previously announced reward of up to $5,000.
A passing motorist noticed the blaze and called 911 at 10:22 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 14, 2011. The clubhouse, which housed a restaurant and pro shop, sustained a total loss from the fire. The damage is estimated at approximately $2 million. No injuries were reported. Following a two–day scene examination, investigators determined that the fire was intentionally set.
ATF dispatched a Certified Fire Investigator (CFI) and additional special agents to the scene. CFIs are highly trained special agents, who provide technical support, analysis and assistance to its state and local partners in the areas of fire origin and cause determination and arson investigation.
The ongoing criminal investigation is being conducted by ATF, the Missouri Division of Fire Safety’s Office of the State Fire Marshal, the Kennett Police Department, the Kennett Fire Department and the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office.
