Veterans

It is an honor to serve as a representative in Washington for our veterans back home. America is a force for hope in the world because we are a compassionate people, and some of the most compassionate Americans are those who have stepped forward to protect us. We must keep faith with all who have risked life and limb so that we might live in freedom and peace.

I am happy to assist veterans with obtaining their military records and medals, with questions they have concerning eligibility for benefits provided by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), or who may be experiencing difficulties with the VA Health Care System or the VA claims and appeals process.

While it is important to know that I cannot act as the "veterans representative" for an individual's VA claim, such assistance can be obtained at no charge from accredited Veterans Service Organizations (VSO). Please see the VA's online Directory of Veterans Service Organizations for VSO contact information.

If you are unable to secure the help you need from the following resources, I am happy to try to help you. However, I will need your written permission to help with most veteran-related issues. A Privacy Act Release form will need to be completed and sent with a detailed explanation of your request for assistance to one of my district offices.
