RELEASE: IN HONOR OF CANCER SURVIVORS DAY, NEUGEBAUER ENCOURAGES SCREENINGS

WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Congressman Randy Neugebauer (TX-19) released a public service announcement on the importance of cancer screening.  To mark the 25th annual National Cancer Survivors’ Day, Congressman Neugebauer is encouraging regular checkups—early detection is critical to successfully treating many kinds of cancer. 

The transcript follows:

“Hi, this is Congressman Randy Neugebauer. During the first weekend of June, we marked the 25th annual National Cancer Survivors Day.  As a cancer survivor, this is a special day of reflection and gratitude for me.  The American Cancer Society estimates that more than 100 thousand people in Texas will be diagnosed with cancer this year.  Early detection and screening is critical to ensure that new cancer patients can join me in celebrating the next Cancer Survivors Day.  Learn more about how you can protect your health at www.preventcancer.orgor www.cancer.org.”
