Webster's Memorial Day Message

Washington, May 28 - (Winter Garden, FL.) – U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) issued the following statement honoring those who have served our country on this Memorial Day, May 28, 2012.

“On this Memorial Day let us take time to remember those brave men and women in uniform who have paid the ultimate price for our country.

"For more than two centuries the United States military has protected Americans against our enemies and the enemies of our friends. The valor, dignity and courage of the men and women in uniform remains strong. From Valley Forge to Desert Storm, from San Juan Hill to Operation Enduring Freedom, the fighting spirit of the American soldier shines throughout history.

"It is due to countless lives selflessly lived and lost in defense of our country that we have the privilege to stand today free and grateful.

"It is my hope that everyone will take the opportunity to attend a memorial service, thank an active duty service member or veteran, volunteer at a local VFW, pray, and strive to walk worthy of their sacrifice,"
stated Webster.
