- Today, as our nation pauses to reflect on the terrorist attack on our homeland in September 2001, we must not forget the many sacrifices born by our first responders, military and national security forces as they worked to keep us out of harm's way that day and defend us from further assaults since that time. The rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness that are guaranteed to us as Americans are preserved through the valor and steadfastness of those who engage the...enemy on distant battlefields to protect and preserve this nation that we all love. Our troops deserve our unwavering support for the sacrifices they have made and continue to make.See More
For the thousands of our citizens that were lost on September 11, 2001, and for the families that continue to feel the pain of that day, we pray that they will be comforted. For our troops, first responders and national security forces who continue to dedicate their lives to preserve our freedoms and increase our safety, we are eternally grateful. We must always remember that the strength of our nation was revealed on that tragic September 11 morning as we were drawn together to support our neighbors, fight our enemies, grieve together and reignite the flames of freedom that push darkness aside and shine light to the world - Are you interested in serving others and getting involved in politics? When a historic number of Americans are not participating in our workforce and the amount of jobs created each month cannot keep up with the population growth, it’s time to throw in the towel on the Administration’s ‘longer’ road to recovery and instead speed up growth to get people back to work. For over 3 ½ years, Americans have endured seeing their family’s and neighbor’s financial security slip away, have paid staggering prices at the pump, and have seen our national debt rise to $16 trillion. The U.S. House of Representatives has sent over 30 job-creation bills to the U.S. Senate and the President, calling for immediate action. However, this Administration refuses to act.

Yesterday, a disturbing moment in American history occurred – our debt reached $16 trillion. That level of debt consumes more than our nation’s entire annual economic output. As Central Floridians are struggling to make ends meet for their families, Washington continues to stick its head in the sand and ignore the fact that we are careening toward a national disaster. With 23 million Americans unemployed or underemployed, it is clear that Washington’s spending problems are de...railing our economy and jeopardizing our children’s future.See More
The time is now to focus on a plan that cuts current spending, caps future spending, and balances the budget. I cosponsored the House-passed Cut, Cap and Balance Act, which would do just that. Regrettably, that bill, like countless other job-creating bills that have passed the House of Representatives, lies dormant in a Senate.

Labor Day honors a long legacy of American ingenuity. As a small business owner, I have learned the value of hard work, and know the difficulty of balancing a checkb...ook with limited resources. Too many Americans are still unemployed, underemployed or just managing to scrape by. As a nation, we must focus on creating jobs and revitalizing the economy through sound principled leadership.See More
