AESDirect Upgrades

Port of Export Look-up and Country of Destination Look-up:

These two AESDirect look-ups have been be converted to work in a manner identical to the Port of Unlading Look-up. These look-ups, when activated, will identify the entered look-up string in each separate word in the tables item description. Any item with at least one match will be selected and displayed. To maintain the efficiency of the Port of Export Look-up, the minimum length of the look-up character string is set to three. This is consistent with the Port of Unlading Look-up feature

USPPI Look-up:

The AESDirect USPPI Look-up response has been enhanced to additionally display the first line of address of each matched USPPI.

Upcoming AESDirect Upgrades

The following Features will be introduced to AESDirect during the Weekend of June 30th.

New Date Format: (Effective Weekend of June 30th)

We are changing the format in which the Departure Date is entered in AESDirect to make the AESDirect system more consistent in its handling of dates. This coming weekend, the Departure Date field will change to same format as the Date fields in the Shipment Reporting Service. All Dates in AESDirect will have to be entered as MM/DD/YY. If you do not enter a date that matches this format, you will receive an error message informing you of your mistake. If a shipment or template that was previously submitted with dates in the old YYMMDD format is retrieved, the date will be converted to the new format.

EDI Filers: This Change does not affect EDI Filers. You should continue to send dates in the format YYMMDD (As specified in the EDI mappings listed in the developers center)

WebLink Filers: WebLink filers may send dates in either format YYMMDD or MM/DD/YY. Please note that in the new format day and month must be padded with a 0 if they are 1 digit long (ex: 07/01/01 is acceptable, but 7/1/01 is not)

USPPI Maintenance: (Effective Weekend of June 30th)

The USPPI Maintenance function has been enhanced to include allow retrieval and display of an existing USPPI profile. The user will be allowed to enter (or select from a look-up) a USPPI code. The full profile of this USPPI will then be retrieved and displayed.
