Software Vendor Certification Script
[Developers Center Home]

Expedited Process – Customs Propriety Standard Only

A software vendor who has client(s) using their software program to support the AESDirect EDI Upload function may be eligible to have their software verified as AESDirect Certified. AESDirect reserves the right to require any software vendor to complete all or a portion of the Standard Certification process detailed below.

Standard Process:

Create a separate export shipment for each of the following conditions to be processed by your system and uploaded to AESDirect.

Insert the test question number in the marks and numbers field for identification. For each test question, insert the specified input data into the appropriate data element fields for the specific test shipment. Complete the shipment by using valid data in all other data element fields. If these other data elements are not valid, the transmission will be rejected by the AESDirect.

Some of the specified conditions may not be valid and should be rejected as invalid transmissions by your system. You should make a screen print of these rejects and forward them to your AES Census client representative.

Notify your AES Census client representative when all test data have been successfully transmitted.

Step 1 - Report a vessel export shipment, filling in all required fields correctly.

Step 2 - Report an air export shipment, filling in all required fields correctly.

Step 3 - Report a truck export shipment, filling in all required fields correctly.

Step 4 - Report a rail export shipment, filling in all required fields correctly.

Notes:

  • One of the four shipments above must report an export shipment that contains two different commodities.
  • One of the commodities must require two units of measure.

Step 5 - Report an export shipment that contains one commodity line with a first quantity greater than 100,000,000.

Step 6 - In Step 5, the S/W Vendor generated a Census Warning. The warning message requires you to correct quantity 1. Correct quantity 1 and resubmit the shipment.

Step 7 - Report an export shipment and identify the contents of that shipment as household goods or other types of commodities that require the reporting of limited information.

Step 8 - Report an export shipment that is accepted by AES and then delete that shipment.

Step 9 - Report an export shipment leaving a Customs port in Puerto Rico (example: San Juan, PR) and destined for the United States.

Step 10 - Report an export shipment leaving a Customs port in the United States (example: New York, NY) and destined for Puerto Rico.

Step 11 - Report an export shipment that requires a BIS license and ECCN.

Step 12 - Report an export shipment that requires a State Department, Directorate of Defense Trade Controls (DDTC) License Number or License Exemption Citation. If client needs license numbers for the purpose of testing, please use the following. Values must range from $2,501 and $3,000:

For license type S05 use numbers ck1001 through ck1030
For license type S61 use numbers ck1031 through ck1035
For license type S73 use numbers ck1036 through ck1040

Step 13 - Report an export shipment that contains a commodity line identifying two used vehicles.

The following VINs may be used for the purpose of this test: 1FDKF37M4NNA50519, 1G3BP83E2MW303505, 1G1BN69H3GY172453, and 1G1BL53E3PR123603.
