RACING EPISODE 05

High Tech Simulators

You know the best proving grounds is the racetrack itself. Bur you only get so much time there to do those things. Whether it’s shocks, play bars, spring combinations. Whatever it is that you’re trying to make the most grip out of the race car.

We run through different scenarios. Try to simulate what the car does on the racetrack. And then the graph will show up on this machine. And that’s how we learn that’s how we pick up. We can’t go and test anymore on these tracks is where we need to go, so this is the next best thing.

We have a fantastic simulation here. We’ve literally rendering the military environment.

As they react or as they do things it changes everything around.

We’ve got a reconfigurable vehicle mounted on a real motion based simulator, and within that simulator we can render the visual environment for the soldiers including realistic battlefield scenarios.

This is a seven posed rig this is where we test cars before they go to the track. Whatever track you want. We’ve done driver profiles for every track we race.

The whole cars are loaded with all of the data equipment. We record all the data there, we come back here, stick that exact same car on the rig. The computer helps us do exactly what the car saw on the road at the track.

We have to do our homework, we have to be prepared.
