U.S. Army Race Teams discuss what it takes to win races.

This is a war that we are battling out here man, that every day we show up with commitment to drive forward.
After the nation anthem, kiss my wife, kiss my baby, get in the race car. That’s focus time, that’s when you put everything else aside and get ready to fire the missile. Your thinking about how you can get past the car in front of you. How do you save fuel, how do you lap people you know what’s the next thing you have to worry about.
There are other teams digging deep also, they are going to find a way to beat you. It’s our job to get through that and come back like a machine.
Badder and meaner than before. Were racing and we’re winning by thousands of a second, inches. 8,000 horse power, two teams battling it out. It’s fine lines, inches, wickedness.
It’s intense for all these guys, its intense for the sponsors. But for me its important to not be over intense and just do my job in the race car on the race days.
That ring is a plus; you know we don’t have a teacher grading us. We get this ring or we don’t.
