Chat Frequently Asked Questions
(The most requested answers to questions below)
A: There is currently a known issue which is affecting VMIS users of all permission levels. This issue causes anyone using Internet Explorer to access VMIS to experience a state where the tabs become locked, preventing users form accessing the various tools of VMIS.
While a long-term solution is implemented, there is a workaround which users can apply. By going into Internet Options, and then accessing the Security settings. From this tab, click the 'Custom Level' button for security settings, and scroll down the list until you find 'Miscellaneous'. Under Miscellaneous will be an option for 'Access data sources across domains'. Changing this setting to 'Enable' should allow your Internet Explorer to access VMIS correctly.
If you are not comfortable with changing these settings, or if you are locked out by your System Administrator, another option is to access the site from an alternate browser such as Firefox or Chrome.
We are working to resolve this as quickly as possible A: When using VMIS to send system emails to users, the system will send blank emails depending on the browser and configuration options.
In order for system messages to work correctly from VMIS, you must be using Internet Explorer. Additionally, if you are using IE 9, then the browser must be set to Compatability Mode. To do so, follow the instructions below:
Go to the "Tools" drop down menu, select "Compatibility View Settings". On this screen you should be able to add myarmyonesource.com to the list there to allow you to view the site as if you were using an older version of Internet Explorer. You should see our web address... just click on the "Add" button to add our site to the compatibility mode list. You may need to restart your browser before it will use compatibility mode for our site. A: If you've forgotten your username and/or password, please go to the login page and press on the 'Forgotten your password?' link. You will be prompted to enter your email address. We will send you an email that includes your username as well as link that will take you to a page to reset your password. Once you finish this process, you will need to log into the site to complete the process. A: If you are trying to open a chat session but nothing happens, you may have your pop-up blocker on. Please either set your browser to allow pop-ups, or add www.myarmyonesource.com to your list of accepted web sites. This should allow you to use the live chat system. A: You can locate services through the Services Locator on Army OneSource. To access the Services Locator, click the 'Services Locator' button in the banner at the top of the page. From there, you can find Family Programs, services, resources, ARMYBook resources, or commercial businesses and services. A: All of our Computer-Based Training modules utilize Flash player technology. Please make sure that you have flash enabled. Additionally, some courses take an extremely long time to load and appear just as 'white' screens without any sign of progress. Some courses take as long as 15 minutes to load depending on your bandwidth. If you are experiencing a white pop-up for more than 15 minutes, please contact Technical Support. A: To access the Volunteering section, click the 'Volunteer Tools' button at the top right of the page.
