VARNA, Bulgaria — Navy Capt. George Walter, commander Task Force Three Six Seven, presents Zulfinas, a child at the Karin Dom Center here with a command coin for her fifth birthday Feb. 27. The Karin Dom Center provides early intervention therapy for children with physical disabilities, mental and learning problems and visual and hearing problems. Forty-seven USS San Jacinto (CG 56) Sailors spent two days visiting the children and volunteering during the ship's port visit here. USS San Jacinto is operating in the Black Sea as part of a larger international team effort to improve maritime safety and security for a region free of trans-national threats built on cooperative security that uses existing political-military constructs.
