    About 42 Fort Bragg students participated in the Shakespeare on Base summer program that was both educational and fun. The students sampled three of Shakespeare’s plays: “Romeo and Juliet,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and “Macbeth” as well as several dance performances and two songs. The program focused not only on acting and learning lines, but on many other aspects of drama including visual art for props and set, singing and dance.

Switching hands, the Soldier reached with his left arm, nabbing a small nubbin of rock. Working his feet up the rock face, Collins hoisted himself to the top of “Waiting on the Staircase,” a moderate route at Arch Rock in Eleven Mile Canyon, near Lake George.

    WIESBADEN, Germany - In addition to moving to a new location in May, Hainerberg Housing’s School Age Center was recently recognized with flying colors by the Council on Accreditation. The new SAC, part of Wiesbaden’s Child, Youth and School Services program, and located in Building 7894 between the Hainerberg Chapel and Teen Center, offers more room and other amenities including air conditioning. The new facility can comfortably support up to 105 children " nearly twice as many students as the former facility.

    FORT MCCOY, Wis. -- Fort McCoy visitors who use the installation’s Lodging facilities are staying in one of the best lodging operations in the Army. Michael Bayerl, Fort McCoy Lodging general manager, said Fort McCoy’s Lodging operation received the Meritorious Award from the American Hotel and Lodging Association for providing premier customer service and upgrading their facilities. Fort McCoy worked its way up to the award by earning the bronze, silver and gold pineapple awards for operations and staff. Bayerl said in Colonial times pineapples symbolized the highest levels of hospitality.

Pam Budda, Outdoor Recreation and Sports Director for the Fort McCoy Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (DFMWR), said the goal of the program, endorsed by the Department of the Army and sponsored by the Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command, is to mitigate high-risk behaviors following deployments.

    FORT MCCOY, Wis. -- Two new sand volleyball courts located outdoors near the Fort McCoy Community Activity Center, building 2000, already are getting heavy use less than a month after being completed as a troop project. Larry Morrow, installation Troop Project coordinator, helped get the project on the list for Operations Essayons, a June engineer exercise held at Fort McCoy. Morrow worked with the CAC, the Directorate of Public Works and the 955th Engineer Company of Pennsylvania to design and construct the project to meet the needs of the CAC and the Soldiers

Yahnke said the program has been ongoing, and the CHARACTER COUNTS! Pillars are woven into every activity the youth in the Child, School & Youth (CYS) Services program participate in year-round. Many youth are participating in the current CYS Services Summer Camp program, with total youth in a recent week nearing the 100-person mark.

    BAUMHOLDER, Germany - Baumholder Army Community Service held its first Sexual Harassment and Assault Response Prevention Summit June 14 at the Rheinlander Community Club. Participants at the summit provided Lt. Col. Steve L. Fandrich, 170th Infantry Brigade Combat Team rear detachment commander, with numerous suggestions to help prevent sexual assault and harassment in the community as well as ways to improve Soldiers’ personal safety.

Our task was to pick up as many jumpers as we could, take them up to 13,000 feet and have them jump out.
