ROTA, Spain — Sailors assigned to the Naval Station Rota Port Operations Department wait for the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) to pull pier side, Feb. 18. This is the first time an amphibious transport dock ship has visited Rota. Mesa Verde recently conducted humanitarian and disaster relief operations as part of Operation Unified Response after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake caused severe damage in and around Port-au-Prince, Haiti Jan. 12. ROTA, Spain — Sailors assigned to the Naval Station Rota Port Operations Department wait for the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD 19) to pull pier side, Feb. 18.
