WASHINGTON – The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) today announced a call for entries for the 12th annual GSA Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation. The award program was established to gather and share cutting-edge real property practices among agencies striving to improve their real property asset management. The 2008 program will recognize exemplary practices in the categories of asset management and sustainability.

GSA’s Office of Governmentwide Policy will accept entries from eligible federal employees from May 1 – July 1, 2008. Entries will be judged by an independent panel of distinguished government and industry experts. GSA senior officials will recognize winners with a monetary award of $5,000 for an individual entrant or $10,000 for a team. All entries submitted will be published in the Governmentwide Policy Office of Real Property Management’s Best Practices Edition of the Real Property Policy Site Newsletter, a publication that encourages the adoption of best practices across the federal government.

Established in 1997, the GSA Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation has enabled GSA to collect hundreds of real property practices from across the federal government and share those practices among the federal real property community. These real property practices have spanned a wide spectrum of real property areas, including business practices, asset management and planning, customer service, information systems, performance measures, security, sustainability, and human capital strategy.

The entry form is available online at gsa.gov/realpropertyaward.  For further information on the 2008 GSA Achievement Award for Real Property Innovation, contact Patrice Walker at (202) 208-7639 or patrice.walker@gsa.gov.
