K-12 Student and Teacher Research Opportunities

ORISE offers research programs and STEM education resources for teachers and students at every level

Science education begins when students first enter school and the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) is committed to seeing students get the best science education possible from the start. ORISE places a high value on equipping elementary, middle, and high school teachers with the best tools and experiences possible to enhance their classroom instruction.

ORISE offers a number of unique research experiences for both students and teachers in the pre-college ranks. Use the link below to learn more about all of the ORISE-sponsored programs available for K-12 students and teachers.

Center for Science Education

Center for Science Education exteriorOak Ridge Associated Universities, which manages ORISE, also built the Center for Science Education on its main Oak Ridge campus to provide a place where K-12 teachers can get hands-on training with the latest technology for classrooms. The Center for Science Education website provides information about these classes as well as a number of other resources designed to equip teachers to provide science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) instruction in creative and engaging ways.
