CAR/SAM RVSM

Background: RVSM Task Force

The RVSM Task Force first met in 1999 to evaluate the feasibility of RVSM implementation in the CAR/SAM Regions. The main purpose of the Task Force is to provide a forum for the coordination and planning that is necessary for successful implementation of CAR/SAM RVSM in the flight levels 290 through 410, inclusive. To accomplish the work of the Task Force, there are three subgroups: the ATC Operations Working Group, the Aircraft Operations and Airworthiness Working Group, and the Safety and Airspace Monitoring Working Group. The CAR/SAM Regions plan to implement RVSM, in conjunction with the North American Region, on January 20, 2005.
