Before a disaster strikes, you can use the Project: Lifeline and bReddi Facebook apps to designate your Lifelines, which are the Facebook friends that you can count on to check on you and to help you get the basic necessities that you need to keep you safe and healthy throughout the disaster and recovery. Staying informed during an emergency is a vital part of protecting yourself as well as your friends and family. Check out your state's resources below so that you have the information you need to prepare for a disaster and respond effectively.
Find Disaster-Related Organizations in your State
Access to DIRLINE records for over 900 organizations with disaster-related responsibilities. DIRLINE, (http://dirline.nlm.nih.gov) a free database of the National Library of Medicine, contains over 8,500 records on various health topics. The subset of disaster records encompasses federal, state, and local government agencies; information and referral centers; professional societies; voluntary associations; academic and research institutions and their programs; information systems; regulatory bodies; and research facilities.
