Center for Green Schools at USGBC Announces Green Apple Commitment to Action at the 2012 Clinton Global Initiative Annual Meeting

Green Apple, an initiative of the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) was announced today at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Annual Meeting held in New York. Green Apple is a global movement to put all children in schools where they have clean and healthy air to breathe, where energy and resources are conserved and where they can be inspired to dream of a brighter future.

From Monday, Sept. 3 through Oct. 2, employees of USGBC's member organizations will have another opportunity to help guide the future of green building by voting for USGBC's 2013 Board of Directors. Members may choose from among 13 highly qualified candidates for the following open directorships: Facility Management & Operations, Developer/Real Estate Services, Energy, Public Health/Healthcare, and Educator (Post-Secondary).

Grammy Award-Winning Band Train to Headline Greenbuild Celebration in San Francisco

Three-time Grammy Award-winning band, Train, will perform before thousands of green building professionals and community members at the upcoming Greenbuild International Conference and Expo, hosted by USGBC. Greenbuild, the world’s largest conference and expo dedicated to green building, will take place Nov. 14-16 in San Francisco, Calif.

Participate now: International Green Survey

The World Green Building Council (WorldGBC) is partnering with McGraw-Hill on a new international green survey, and we encourage members of green building councils around the world to participate. The survey will examine important trends affecting and transforming the construction industry on a global, regional and national level. Most critically, the survey will provide information on the benefits experienced in green construction globally and the variation of green practices and standards by region. By participating, companies will be able to have their opinions inform the global construction community about the rising green market.

USGBC To Co-Host National Affordable Green Homes & Sustainable Communities Summit at Greenbuild with Institute for Professional and Executive Development, and Enterprise Community Partners

USGBC announced it will co-host the National Affordable Green Homes & Sustainable Communities Summit with the Institute for Professional and Executive Development (IPED) - an affiliate of Nixon Peabody LLP and Enterprise Community Partners, Inc. (Enterprise). The two-day summit will take place Nov. 13 - 14, 2012 in San Francisco, Calif. at the Greenbuild International Conference & Expo, the world's largest conference and expo dedicated to green building.
