CDC's Colorectal Cancer Control Program (CRCCP) provides funding to 25 states and 4 tribes across the United States for five years. The CRCCP's goal is to increase colorectal (colon) cancer screening rates among men and women aged 50 years and older from about 64% to 80% in the funded states by 2014. An increase in screening rates will reduce illness and death from colorectal cancer.
Features
About the Colorectal Cancer Control Program
Local programs provide colorectal cancer screening to low-income people aged 50–64 years when no other payment option is available.
Demonstration Program
CDC's colorectal cancer screening demonstration program explored the feasibility of implementing a national program.
Colorectal Cancer Screening Saves Lives
Screening tests can find precancerous polyps, so that they can be removed before they turn into cancer. If you're 50 or older, get screened.
