PEACHTREE CITY, GA — November 6, 2009 — Dr. Linda Curtis, Area Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Department of Defense (DoD) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDSCuba) announced today that Mr. Brian Perry has been named
principal of Pierce Terrace Elementary School, at Fort Jackson, S.C., in the South Carolina/Fort Stewart/DoDDS Cuba District.

Perry, a native of Montgomery, AL., has been with the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) throughout his education career. He began as a physical education teacher in 2001 at Maxwell Air Force Base Elementary School, AL. In 2006, he was selected as the Assistant Principal at Maxwell AFB and during the 2007-2008 school year he also served as the Education Technologist. He served as the Assistant Principal at both Maxwell and at Robins AFB Elementary School, GA, during the 2008-2009 school year.

“We are excited to have Mr. Brian Perry join our team,” said Dr. Samantha Ingram, the South Carolina/Fort Stewart/DoDDS Cuba District Superintendent. “He will bring the high energy and visionary leadership necessary to provide our students with a high quality education.”

Perry earned his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Physical Education from Faulkner University, Montgomery, AL, his Master’s Degree in Education and his Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Auburn University at Montgomery. He and his wife, Kimberly, have three children – Garrett, Josie and Anna.
