PEACHTREE CITY, GA — April 27, 2010 — Dr. Linda Curtis, Area Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment for the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) Domestic Dependent Elementary and Secondary Schools (DDESS) and Department of Defense Dependents Schools, Cuba, (DoDDS-Cuba) announced today that Mr. Mohan Vaswani has been named principal of Fort Campbell High School, at Fort Campbell, in the Kentucky District. FCHS Principal Dave Witte will retire July 31.

Vaswani comes to DoDEA from the Woodland Park, Colorado, school district where he has served as the Assistant Principal at Woodland Park High School for the past four years and prior to that was an Assistant Principal at Woodland Park Middle School for one year. He began his teaching career in Wooster, Ohio, as a computer and science teacher for grades 7 through 10. He taught middle school and high school science for five years in the Sarasota County (Florida) School District. He served as a full-time data coach and administrative intern for one year.

“I am very pleased to welcome Mr. Mohan Vaswani as the Fort Campbell High School principal,” said Dr. Jo Blease, Kentucky District’s Fort Campbell Assistant Superintendent. “His leadership will continue to strengthen the school's focus on academic excellence.”

Vaswani received his Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Akron, Ohio. He earned his Master’s Degree of Education in Educational Leadership from the University of South Florida, Tampa. He and his wife, Melissa, have two daughters, Kalindi, 7, and Madelyn, 6.
