2. Discuss coin collections and talk about the collecting hobby with your class. You might read a book about coins aloud or visit the H.I.P. Pocket Change(TM) Web site. 3. Give each student a paper coin. Then ask, "Who has a coin collection?" 4. Have those students with a coin collection come to the front of the class and glue their coins on the graph. Then have the remaining students glue their coins on the other half of the graph. 5. Ask students to look at the graph and answer these questions: How many students in our class have a coin collection? How many students in our class do not collect coins? How many more people in our class collect coins than don't? (or vice versa.) What else can you tell about the students in our room from this graph? Assessment / Evaluation:
