SHAPE duo combine for 4 TDs in triumph

MONS, Belgium - Connor Manning and Amari Wilson each ran for two touchdowns to pace the SHAPE Spartans (1-0-1) to a 35-12 non-conference victory Friday over the Hohenfels Tigers.

Wilson, who would finished with 84 rushing yards, went into the end zone from 32 and 7 yards out, and Manning, who totaled 95 rushing yards on the day, crashed in from the 5- and the 10-yard lines, to give the Spartans a 21-6 halftime lead.

Sophomore sensation David Vidovic scored both TDs for Hohenfels (0-2 overall and 0-1 in II-South), the first of them on an 86-yard kick-off return.

SHAPE, however, unleashed a big play of its own, a 70-yard TD pass from Brett Cain to P.J. Nieves in the fourth quarter.

Next up for Hohenfels is a non-conference game against visiting AFNORTH on Saturday; SHAPE is to play at Schweinfurt the same day.
